This work looks at the marks left by stonemasons and various crafts people who worked on Cobh Cathedral during construction almost 150 years ago. Specialist tradesman came from throughout the world during construction, many finally settling in the town. The legacy of this construction exists not only in the marks in the stones, tiles and woodwork of the building but also in the population and the names of their ancestors who remain in the town.
